Bridal Alterations
Have your wedding gown alterations done by Fit-For-a-Bride (whether you bought your gown here or not). You will be treated respectfully and professionally and you will have my personal one-on-one attention for all your needs. Rental petticoats are available for each fitting —No extra cost.

FitForaBride is a "family-run" business —Myself and my mom, Irene, and my dad, Stan. Mom and I will be working together on your alterations (two-woman assembly line). Once you and I have made contact and we've had our first fitting session, you can deal with either of us. We're always conspiring together so feel free to call on either one of us for your needs or for any questions you may have.

Call me for your alteration appointments (702) 260-6578. If I'm not here leave a message and, when I return, I'll call you right back. For driving directions (or anything else) you can contact either of us by email at  debi@fitforabride.net  or  irene@stanreel.com  Be sure to call for an appointment first so one of us will be available when you arrive.

Here is a printable driving map that will guide you to your appointment. Cut the 2-sided card from the bottom and put it in your purse. Keep the top in your car. You can also make a driving map from your present location courtesy Yahoo® Maps. When the map opens, just scroll down and enter your present location in the "A" field. Then click the "Get Directions" button.

Here is a general guide to alteration costs. Before any work begins, you will be given a detailed quote with the exact cost for your alterations. We know you don't like surprises either, so no work commences until all the details are down on paper. For more information or questions,   Call or  email  anytime.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE FIRST FITTING TO THE LAST?
You can always expect personal, one-on-one attention to your bridal needs.

One person at a time will normally be scheduled for fitting. If more than one in your wedding party wish to come together for a common appointment, please be sure to make this known ahead of time.

First Fitting:
If you already have your shoes or foundation wear be sure to bring them with you for your first appointment and any subsequent fittings. That's because all of these items will have an impact on your gown's fit. The height of your shoes will affect how your skirt needs to be hemmed as does the fullness of your petticoat. Similarly, the fit of your top will be affected by the type of bra you're wearing. It, in turn, might be dictated by the type of gown. So you can see that, along with your gown, all these other items will be needed so that everything will work together and you can get that "perfect fit."

Second Fitting:
Initially, your seamstress basted all seam and hem adjustments. No material was cut, just tucked out of the way temporarily. Any trim that had to be loosened or removed was either not yet replaced or just basted in place. Minor additional adjustments, if needed, are noted and your gown sent back to the seamstress for finalizing.

By the way, this can be very delicate and time consuming work, depending on the complexity of your gown's styling and how ornate its trim. Now see why she is called a seamSTRESS? This is why I continually preach about getting an accurate fit in the first place —so we can make alterations with minimal or no surgery by adjusting the height of your shoes and the "poof" of your petticoat. This is also one very good reason to subscribe for my Wedding Attire Consultation. Getting accurate measurements before ordering will minimize gown alterations, reducing the stress on both your seamstress and your pocketbook.

Third Fitting:
Usually a third fitting isn't necessary. Only if major alterations were needed so that we couldn't really see the outcome after the first session. Your seamstress has gone only as far as she could safely go. Only now, after her preliminary work gives us a satisfactory view of the fit and look will she trim away excess material, permanently sew the seams and replace all the appliques and beadwork that she had loosened.

On your final approval your gown will be finished and steamed —Ready for the
Big Day

Time needed for Alterations:
Wedding Gowns 1 to 3 months
